Boring
Thursday, January 29, 2009
Chinese New Year has been very very boring this year. In fact, I'm feeling that as I'm getting older, any festivities that I celebrated grew even more boring year by year.
Due to the fact we have now cats in the house, so we cant put up too much decorations up in the house as the cat might mistake them for something and will attack those things without any mercy especially if it's moves.
Cats are very curious creatures. It's very easy to bait them over. Just grab a stick or a string or plastic bag or anything for that matter, fling it over them back and forth/ left and right/in and out (basically just dangle the things you're holding in front of them). Sooner or later, they'll wonder what are you holding and will come straight at you. It's the same concept of making a fish biting your bait during fishing, except I never had fishing experience before.
Lets see.. Less decorations.. Less foods... Less watching TVs. Less people come and visit us. Pretty much everything is lesser this year. By the way, we didn't put up any Christmas Tree this year, as the cats will climb up the tree and play with it.
Because this year's Chinese New Year was sooooo boring, I decided to play basketball in the nearest basketball court near my house on the third day of CNY. Probably because I didn't workout for such a long period, my legs were kinda dead after running up and down the court for some time...
Despite that, my mid range shots still fall and it's getting better than last time. Leave me open and I will probably knock down the shot without question. It's all on the shooting form. As long I can maintain the right shooting form while taking a shot, there's a better chance that the shot is going in.
Lately, I'm practicing "Touch typing". For starters, I misplaced all my fingers all along.... Pinkie finger is used to type the alphabet "A". Of course, unless you're a trained pianist, all of us has weak pinkie finger. Thing gets worse if you're right handed. Due to the fact that the letter "A" is frequently typed and it's situated on your side of the keyboard, one is forced to always use your weakest finger on your weaker hand. It's VERY TIRING!!!
Oh well, things are always hard at first. Just have to do it day by day, slowly and steadfast. You'll just get used to it later..... Success don't just come in a day.
Sneezing like tap water

This has been very sudden.
One day, after I had walked out of the bathroom after my bath, I started to sneeze... Ok. This has happened before. It's nothing.
That night, went to bed. Prayed before I went to sleep. The next day....
I HAVE SORE THROAT!!! and RUNNING NOSE!!....
until now..
My sis gave me 2 Orange-flavoured Hacks sweets (the sweets that claims it will aid in relieving sore throat)... When I ate it, I feel like I'M IN HEAVEN.. YEAH... *haha*
My shooting lately has improved compared to last time thanks to some tutelage from a guy named Zero (not sure what his real name though) and Bryan, my sifu. Zero fixed some of the kinks in my shooting form and told me why shots kept falling short.
Last time, I have fears in taking shots especially from the baseline/ corner of the court cause I know they wont go in. After been through a lot of drills with Bryan which forces me to take some of the shots from the baseline, I have confidence now in shooting from that spot which was once the spot I dont want to be in.
I haven't develop a three point range yet. I have confidence in knocking down shots inside the 3 point line but not outside of it. This has to do with my lack of arm strength. Well, as long I keep shooting and be comfortable, eventually I will have that range- It's just the matter of time.
I have start to learn cooking at home. I had prepared the family's dinner for the last few days and everything went well except for two things:
1) The time that I took to cook all the food is way tooo long in my opinion...
2) Its hard to gauge how much salt and ajinomoto is needed so that the soup will have taste. Its a pain that u have to put in salt and ajinomoto back and forth because there's no taste in the food.
Been selling some stuff in January. Earned my first RM50 of Year 2009. When I say RM50, i mean one piece of Rm50 bill. Woot. This RM50 right here is my first step for my "Ultimate Plan of Total World Domination" to succeed. Nah, just joking, but I do have plans and that RM50 is crucial for whatever I have in store for the future.
P.S Dun rob me. Rm50 is only what I have. Please spare me... =.=...
It seems that I cant cook tonight. Still sneezing. Bad idea to cook when u r sick as it will contaminate the food. I think I gonna eat some medicine and hit the bed later....
By the way, for those who thinks their typing speed isnt quite satisfactory, I have developed a drill myself (others might have created it first before me but give some credits to me as I thought of the drill by myself) to help you guys in typing faster, accurately and efficiently.
Type this sentence:
"A quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." repeatedly. As much as you can handle. Type until you get bored. Type until you feel like dying etc.
The uniqueness of this sentence is that this sentence alone is a pangram, or in other word, the sentence contains all the 26 alphabets used in English. For me, I regulate myself in typing one full page of that pangram everyday- which translate to typing the pangram 92 times daily.
To make things even challenging, try typing by not seeing the keyboard or totally not seeing the whole monitor and keyboard at all. The drill takes about 20 minutes to complete (depending how good you're)
Thats pretty much about it

I just lost my cellphone. Damn it.
My mom just cut the telephone line last week.
I have now ZERO connection with my friends now except online, email and MSN.
My MSN is consistently not working all the time, hence leaving the only option- email. Of course, there's always the chat function in facebook.
Now, I'm forced to spend more time in front of the computer and the computer is forced to on almost at least 12 hours per day, in case anything happens. I seriously wanna cut down my internet usage rate as the connection is really really really damn slow these days. The sent and received rate are insanely bad. Very bad.
No! I forgot my freethrow shooting form. Meaning I have to do all my shooting practice from scratch again. Good thing is my shooting is gradually picking up and getting better. Gonna meet up Bryan this Sat to ball. He's kinda like my sifu, but seriously dont act like one.
Practiced Rip Hamilton's off-the-ball movement drill that I saw on Youtube with the help of Joemann and his brother, John. There were 4 sets in a drill. First set was bad- caught the ball, turned and shoot, missed everything but land. The same happens on the second set, the difference was you start from the opposite side. Third set was similiar to the first set, but " a cut into the lane" was added and the passer was supposed to throw a bounce pass for the easy layup. Thats the only set i scored. Fourth set was set 1+ set 2. From the right, fake a catch, then travel to the left, catch, turn and shoot.
Drill 1 sucked. I only scored on the third set. Drill 2 was better. Banked in the first set, easy layup on the third, also banked in the fourth. Rimmed the 2nd though. Joemann said the movement drill looked stupid, and John suggested he should be chasing me around for the drill to be effective.
So we did that. All the sets was horrible except the third. I realize that I'm totally incapable of handling the ball under pressure, even the slightest. John tried to go with me 1 on 1, and yes, I didnt turned the ball over. I havent mastered "The scissors" drill, gonna ask Bryan how to actually do it cause I still cant get it.
Day 1 of school reopening
Monday, June 9, 2008
Day 1 of school reopens. This morning, I was totally not feeling like wake up of bed and go through the whole "routine". It was bloody 6 am in the morning and I couldnt get a good night sleep thanks to the cats.
The eldest cat was making a lot of noises in the midnight and some of my family members arent able to get some sleep, especially my dad who was so damn furious and stayed up the whole night. When I woke up, I felt soooo tired and wasnt really in the mood to get my butt up into the bathroom and go to school. Yes, I thought of playing truant today.
Then I go check today's timetable and noticed there's 3 periods of Chemistry today. OMG. Cannot skip Monday la. Hence, I reasserted myself and willed my legs to the bathroom and prepare myself for school.
First period was Maths and recieved my Maths result. I flunked, yet again. I'm sort of expecting it but not happy with the fact I flunked with the score below 20. Thats horrible. All the exercises and homework that I have been doing is only worth below 20 marks for my mid-term exam? Sigh. Should I do more questions next time or anyone in the world out there has any idea?
2 free periods next and the whole class was either sleeping or kap-siao-ing. No one was doing anything significant with books. ( As informed, it's just the first day of school reopens and every student is expecting the teacher to give back their test paper instead of teaching). LNK didnt enter class, again, so blank another 2 periods.
Suddenly, Pn Ooi enters the class and told us to go to the lab for practical sessions (Experiment time.) The whole class was dumbstruck as no one expected this to happen at first. I must say luckily I attend school today, or else I will be in trouble the next day.
Some NBA news. LA Lakers has fallen into a 2-0 hole against the Boston Celtics and forced to win their next 2 games as the series shifts to Staples Centre for Game 3 and 4. The Lakers have to win the Game 3 to keep their hopes alive for the NBA championship as no team in the NBA history has ever overcomed a 3-0 hole to win a series. A lose in the next matchup will prematurely ends the Lakers hopes of winning the grand prize.
Well, thats Day 1. Hope Day 2 will be better.
School Reopens
School reopens tomorrow. It's 2 am now in the midnight. I've been sleeping very late in the past 3 days, actually staying up 3-4 am before heading to bed and wake up after 12pm the next day. I should be in bed by now.
Contrary to what I planned out, I'm actually getting nothing done over the past 2 weeks. Except for cleaning up the mess on my study table and reorganizing all the books, I have done nothing "study/books- related". I've been slackin.
For that, I try to compensate by doing a little bit of Pn. Ooi's Chemistry homework which she ordered us to do in the holidays. I thought it was going to be a walk in the park at first since they're all objective questions and since I did concentrate and jot down everything during her lesson, I was like " how hard it can be man?" So I decided to slack off a bit at first and planned to finish it in 30 minutes before I went to bed.
EHH ... (buzzer beeps) WRONG. It was insanely hard. All of her questions are past year questions. I shouldnt overestimated myself and took it easy on it. I wasnt able to answer much of the questions in the exercise and now I feel that I'm in serious trouble. It's 2 now and I didn't complete the homework. I'm toasted!
My cats at home are annoying. Especially the old one. I hate the small ones for taking their dump all over the place and answering nature's call in the wrong place at the wrong time. The 3 of them vex me, infuriates me.. whatever. They're pissing me off. Having them around is soooooooo stressful with those incessant miao-ing. Agh!! I'm in the verge of breaking down!
Just watched Kung-Fu Panda with Joemann and John on it's premier in Malysia which falls on June 6, Friday. The movie was awesome. Excellent artwork, great creativity, over-the-edge
cheoreography, exaggerating effects and a lot of funny moments. Highly recommended for people who like cartoons and comedy. A definite must-see. Check out the artwork, it's very very detailed. To sum it up, it's a hillarious comedy movie with a lot of cool features in it.
At for this moment, it's pretty much useless to worry about anything. What I learnt from Floyd Mayweather's interview is that
As long you prepare yourself to be the best you can be, there's no reason to be concerned about what going to happen or in his case, what his opponents bring to the table. The fight will get here when it gets here.Speaking about Floyd, he announced his retirement from boxing a few days ago. He states that there's he no longer has the drive and passion towards boxing anymore. If u guys did read my post about his interview, you might find him very cocky and arrogant nevertheless the things he said is inspirational. It's 2.30 liao lar.... Die liao la.. Haha. To Zhi Xiang, I will remember that
YOU'RE IN PERTH. Heading to bed now. Good night.Labels: floyd mayweather, kung-fu panda, zhi xiang
Afraid of me?

1) Corrections:
Poh Soon is driving Nissan Altis, not Nissan Camry.
Zhi Xiang isnt that chubby.. but still.. what the heck.
Usian Bolt is currently the world fastest man, not Asafa Powell.
The world record for 100m sprint is no longer 9.74s, but 9.72s.
2) I THINK that Chuin Yee is sort of terrified of me. Or I'm just being paranoid. Still I couldn't help noticing his eyes when he talks to me. His eyes express the feeling of vulnerability and fear towards me as if I'm going to kill him exactly where he's standing in the next second. What? I'm being Orochimaru from Naruto right now?? Do I emanate creepy killing intents when I'm standing in front of you?
3) As crazy it might sound, I have other observations to support this paranoia. i) He cant stand still when talking to me. ii) His heads tremble at a higher rate compared when he's talking to his friends. iii) His eyes always stares the other way around instead. Ok, now you guys can officially proclaim me as being crazy if you want to.
4) Saw Tiesto's CD in Tanjung Bungah's Pasar Malam on Wednesday. Armin van Buuren's and PvD's and others too. Thats rare. Rm4 each per pirated CDs.. Anyone? LOL.
5) It's (expletive) JUNE already. (expletive) hell.. Insinuating 3 things;
i) My STPM is 5 months away. Forget STPM first, school's trial exam is in September and Maths and Chemistry competition are in next month from what I've heard. (expletive) times 3
ii) I have used up 1 week of my 2 weeks school holidays. 1 week left to learn/study/research on Physics (10% ), Chemistry (45 %), and Maths (70%). [Percentage in brackets indicating how well my grasp in those respective subjects]
iii) Less and less time to prepare. INTENSE!! Good luck to Joanne for her Griffith Uni's Final Exam which takes place in almost the whole month of June.
6) No, I'm still unable to sing high-pitched notes with certain consistency. Still, have no problem in letting out 2 or 3 notes without getting my throat sore. Anything more than that my throat will have to pay the price. It's still a long way before reaching soprano or tenor level to actually produce enough resonance to break a wine glass.
7) LA Lakers- Boston Celtics reunion for the NBA Finals. Most hyped and anticipated matchup of the season. LA Lakers emerged as Western Conference's champion after defeating defending NBA champions San Antonio Spurs by 4-1. Boston Celtics close out the series against Detriot Pistons by 4-2.
Personally, I'm rooting for the Lakers because my favourite player, Kobe Bryant is in that team. Comparing each team's strength and weaknesses, both teams are actually in equal terms, but the edge goes to Lakers for having a better second unit and a proven coach who won 9 NBA championships- Phil Jackson.
8) Worst luck in 2 days that I had ever had. First off, my mom's electrical appliciances wasnt working when I was boiling water for the steamboat in my class' Apartment Stay in Bayu Emas, Tanjung Bungah. Then, when we head on to the beach, my camera was accidently immerse in the sea water for 1 second and it went nuts. Third, I fell down on a longkang. No, I din fell into the longkang, just tripped and slipped. Thats all in 2 days. Bleep.
I'm out of like Chuin Yee getting heebie-jeebies when talking to me.
